Corrupted
Keeps the creature's natural colour, wrapped in a shifting, unnatural aura. Stronger than the base monster in every way, with enriched loot and a real shot at rare drops.
The more common of the two — but never harmless.
Any creature you hunt may rise again — twisted, burning, and vastly more deadly.
The monsters you know are not always what they seem. On rare occasions a creature is born touched by a darker power — reborn as a Corrupted or Infernal version of itself. These are not new monsters. They are the familiar ones, made monstrous: greater health, heavier blows, new abilities… and loot worth dying for.
There is no warning. The bear at the treeline, the dragon in its lair, the lowly rotworm underfoot — any of them can turn. Learn to read the glow. It means danger, and it means fortune.

Burning red, unmistakable. The apex variant — far deadlier, with the heaviest hits and the richest reward. Its loot table is the best the world has to offer.
This is the one that ends careless hunts.
Depending on the creature, a variant can be anywhere from 1× to 10× stronger than its base form — more health, more damage per turn, and spells the original never had. They also grant greatly boosted experience, making them some of the fastest ways to level in Alzeria — if you can bring one down.
Any rare item in the game can be looted from an infernal. Their loot tables are enriched across the board, and they hold the keys to unique rewards found nowhere else. Most kills pay well.
And once in a great while — if fortune truly favours you — an infernal drops something extraordinary.
We won't spoil what. Half the thrill is the roll.
A single Infernal can send even a prepared hunter on a quick trip back to the temple. Come ready — or don't come at all.
